Position Overview
The Senior Engineer will play a critical role in the transfer and ongoing support of manufacturing processes for biopharmaceutical products. This position requires a deep understanding of bioprocess engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the tech transfer of manufacturing processes and continued support of batch production through Quality disposition.
Provide technical expertise and support for process validation, technology transfer, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Process Development, Quality, and Manufacturing, to ensure seamless process integration and product quality.
Through data analysis assist in the optimization of process parameters and improve product yield and quality.
Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent and robust manufacturing performance.
Author and review technical documents, including process descriptions, facility fit reports, risk assessments protocols, reports, and regulatory submissions.
Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians in best practices and advanced techniques.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to drive continuous improvement.
Job requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or process development.
Strong knowledge of bioprocess engineering principles, including upstream and downstream processing.
Experience with process validation, technology transfer, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software.
Physical Demands
This job includes sitting, standing, walking, using hands/fingers for typing and handling documents, reaching, and maintaining close vision for computer work.
This job functions in an open office setting using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, copiers, fax machines, and file cabinets.
This job may require stooping, kneeling or crouching for accessing files in lower cabinets or performing other tasks.
Salary Range: $136,000 - $164,000 per year
