Position Overview
Seeking a highly motivated and capable procurement specialist/buyer for our New Jersey office that can work with the team, supporting the business and align initiatives with business strategies at Enzene Inc. in coordination with Enzene Corporate. Working in a consultative manner, this role will help guide and support selecting suppliers and pricing, utilizing contracts, and educate on procurement best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, procure, and manage inventory for direct materials including raw materials, consumables, and critical supplies to support GMP manufacturing activities.
Responsible to place and confirm orders, coordinate special delivery as needed, resolve discrepancies, and provide updates to internal stakeholders.
Create and manage purchase orders in SAP, ensuring accuracy in quantity, pricing, delivery terms, and supplier information.
Monitor material requirements and ensure alignment with production schedules and forecasts.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and account representatives.
Proactively track and expedite purchase orders to meet on-time delivery targets.
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse, and Finance teams to support seamless supply chain execution.
Identify and mitigate supply risks through alternate sourcing or inventory buffers.
Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in inventory cycle counts and reconciliation efforts.
Analyze inventory trends and help establish reorder points, safety stock, and planning parameters in SAP.
Develop and maintain Excel-based trackers and dashboards for PO status, material availability, and key metrics.
May assist with negotiating supplier pricing and terms.
Support the implementation of SOPs, procurement workflows, and planning tools as the organization scales.
Provide support to resolve system, process, purchase transaction, and supplier issues as they arise.
Will provide backup to warehouse associates as needed.
Operation within department and company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Job requirements
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma required. Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in a buyer/planner role, preferably in a GMP/CDMO or life sciences manufacturing environment.
Skills: Strong experience with SAP (MM/PP modules preferred). Comfortable working in a startup environment—hands-on, agile, and solution-oriented. Demonstrated experience in direct material planning and inventory management. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, reporting). Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams. Self-starter with a high degree of ownership and urgency.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in person and over the phone.

Salary Range: $82,000.00 - $101,000.00 per year
