Position Overview
The Facilities Supervisor will play a crucial role in the startup activities of our new manufacturing and laboratory facility. This position includes, but is not limited to supporting the setup and operation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), establishing preventative maintenance and calibration activities, and coordinating with a third-party integrated facility management provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the startup activities of a new manufacturing and laboratory facility.

  • A primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the repair, maintenance, and operation of the facility.

  • Support set up and operation of the site’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Establish and oversee preventative maintenance and calibration schedules and activities.

  • Coordinate with a third-party integrated facility management provider to ensure seamless operations.

  • Support and Schedule facility shutdown activities.

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for calibration, maintenance and facility operations.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.

  • Monitor and optimize facility performance to achieve operational excellence.

  • Train and mentor staff on maintenance and operational best practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality Control, Supply Chain, Process Development, and Quality Assurance, to support facility needs and improvements.

  • Support budget management and resources effectively to meet operational goals.

  • Play a key role in the further expansion of the site.

  • Interact with Quality Assurance for procedures, change controls, deviation investigations, and onsite audit support.

  • Support validation activities as needed.

  • Identify problems by evaluating, gathering, and analyzing information. Considers potential outcomes, determines appropriate solution and works to resolution. Ensures all work meets or exceeds applicable codes and standards. Use appropriate record keeping methods. Accomplishes tasks accurately and completely.

  • You ensure safety standards and procedures are followed and accidents are avoided. Identify and recommend resolutions for potential safety concerns and unsafe work practices. Exhibit safe work habits and use appropriate protective equipment based on established procedures.

  • Promote a collaborative, cooperative, and productive environment. Respect and value others and maintain good relationships with a broad range of people.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Degree or equivalent required.  Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, related field preferred, or commensurate experience and knowledge gained through industry or military service.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in facilities, engineering, or operations. Proven experience with CMMS setup and management. Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance and calibration activities.

    • Electrical certification and experience (strongly preferred)

    • Experience in operating a building management system (BMS/BAS) (required)

  • Skills: Excellent project management and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with third-party service providers. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    • Intermediate plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry skills (required)

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.

Physical Demands

  • This job includes sitting, standing, walking, using hands/fingers for typing and handling documents, reaching, and maintaining close vision for computer work

  • This job operates in an office setting using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, copiers, fax machines, and file cabinets

  • This job may require stooping, kneeling or crouching for accessing files in lower cabinets or performing other tasks

  • Moderate physical activity such as lifting and carrying items like tools, equipment, or supplies, often up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to work indoors and outdoors, potentially in extreme temperatures or inclement weather.

  • May involve climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions. 

Salary Range: $68,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
